Soph (10) and Leo (13) are looking forward to spending the summer vacations with their grandma CLARA. Even though the two of them are more like cats and dogs, there is one thing they both agree on: Clara Freudenreich is without a doubt the best grandma in the world! Every day with Clara brings a new adventure: not only does she run a curiosity store filled to the last niche of its endless cellar aisles with mysterious, exciting things, but the retired biologist and zoologist also regularly embarks on great trips with the children on her sidecar motorcycle, during which they explore legendary sights of the region. Grandma knows like no other how to make these encounters with nature and history lively and exciting – sometimes too exciting for Leo’s taste; everyone can learn to discover the adventurer in themselves and expand their own horizon, that’s her credo.
The very first excursion sets an adventure in motion that exceeds the children’s wildest expectations: in the “dragon hole,” a rock cave where “real” dragons are said to have been sighted again and again for centuries, they come upon four large eggs. Clara examines the eggs and concludes that they are dinosaurs – pulsing with growing life! They bring the eggs to safety, nurture them, until finally, very strange creatures hatch out of them: real dinosaurs. With extremely unusual characteristics and capabilities, though: The dinosaurs absorb knowledge and information at lightning speed, have distinct personalities – and they can speak. Some of them also develop a pronounced passion for homemade Gugelhupf cake.
